A former substitute teacher in mid-Missouri was recently arrested after she allegedly paid students to engage in sexual acts with her.

A grand jury indicted a former substitute teacher on several charges for the rape, sodomy, and sexual trafficking of a student.

Carissa Jane Smith was arrested and charged with 19 felonies, including statutory rape and patronizing prostitution.

One of the victims, according to a probable cause statement, met Smith when she was substituting at Dixon Middle School. She gave students her Snapchat and they added her, the victim told a Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department deputy.
