All lanes of northbound Interstate 5 at SR 526 in Everett closed as authorities investigate a double shooting on Sunday.

After a short pursuit, the man crashed on I-5, near Highway 526, police said. Shortly after, officers reportedly heard gunshots from inside the man’s car. They approached and found the man dead. According to police, officers didn’t fire any shots.

Traffic was halted Sunday afternoon on northbound I-5 in Everett, as police closed in on a homicide suspect. Backups stretched 3 miles in both directions.
