KALAMAZOO, MI -- A Kalamazoo woman was hit by a vehicle and killed, according to police. The crash occurred at 11:19 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, near the intersection of East Kalamazoo Avenue and North Edwards Street, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said in a news release.

The pedestrian, 38-year-old Sarah Elizabeth Ballentine of Kalamazoo, was walking in the roadway when she was struck by a vehicle, according to authorities. Public safety officers and emergency personnel provided medical care at the scene, and was transported to a local hospital. She passed away from her injuries Sept. 18.

A woman who was hit by a car late on Tuesday night in Kalamazoo on Tuesday died one day later in the hospital.
