Douglas County sheriff’s officials and commissioners violated Colorado labor laws during a union election process earlier this year, according to a state report.

Douglas County officials violated state labor laws by discouraging employees to vote on forming a union with the state’s Fraternal Order of Police, according to a letter from the CDLE.

Colorado’s labor department has determined Douglas County, from the sheriff’s office to the board of commissioners, violated state labor practices by allegedly attempting to influence votes during a union election process earlier this year.

The county was ordered to stop all anti-collective bargaining actions, distribute the determination letter to all employees and post a notice informing employees about their rights under state law. FOX31's Gabby Easterwood spoke with the Colorado State Fraternal Order of Police about the decision.
