Beautiful grounds and area. The church ruins are beautiful and you can only imagine how magnificent the church once was. Full review by lorrenr2016

Beautiful. The grounds are beautiful in their very natural state, and despite the building being a shell of the original, it's easy to see how magnificent it was. What I find the most sad are the cou… Full review by KimTravels525

This was one of our favorite places. They called it ruins, but it is far from that. It still is beautiful and could be so much more for wedding and venues. The architecture is stunning. The cemetery … Full review by Terry K

I found this information online, nothing specific about dogs, especially please clean up any waste. "Please note that the ruins rest on private property. The owner, St. Helena’s Church in Beaufort, asks to share these guidelines for visiting: No climbing on the ruins or grave markers, no touching of the ruins, no littering or defacing the ruins or surrounding property, and respecting the authority of preservationists and St. Helena’s Church members who are charged with maintaining the property."

The grounds are always open. This is the most spiritual place I have ever been. Difficult to see / find. My GPS could not get me there, I ultimately used my phone with google drive directions. It is on a road with a speed limit of 55 mph and not well marked, you can barely see it from the road, parking is across the street. Enjoy!
Q:
Do you need to schedule a visit on a Saturday? We want to come this Saturday.
A:
Public... Just park and visit. Road side parking and additional parking in area across the road from the ruins.

How much room is there for parking? (You can just say how many cars would fit) Is it a paved area or gravel? Is the road leading in paved or gravel? How much time would you allow to check out the ruins and cemetery? I am planning a tour for a group of motorcyclists and would love to include this. Not everyone would be there at once, but would like to know some logistics before planning. Thanks to anyone who can help with the answer within the next few days.

There is limited parking in front but cars here "ruin" shots as they can be seen. There is an I paved hard dirt Peking lot across from it with parking for at least 15 motor cycles. I would think 30 -45 minutes would be ample time to check it out. Hope this helps. Enjoy
Q:
Do the ruins close at dark or would it be possible to do night photography?
A:
No it doesn't close at dark that I recall any hours of operation signs. Don't try anything like a fire or vandalism as it is video monitored.
