This area is known as the last habitat in San Francisco for the endangered Mission blue butterfly. Keep your eyes open and see if you can spot their beautiful iridescent colour. It is also a place to… Full review by The_Concierge_8

As others have said, keep things in the trunk (boot) or under cover in the back. You’ll be fine if your just visiting the view and staying 15-30 mins. If you park there and are going hiking all day, I wouldn’t leave suitcases in the car to be safe. It’s worth the stop and safe for a visit!!!
Q:
I see you can get bus 37 here. How much does it cost and how long does it take one way?

I recently moved to the area and was wondering how true the rumor is thats around here that the coyetes are infested around here. I have heard them and my husband saw one. But is it a concern for humans walking around at night ? Or day...
A:
You have more to fear from the human species at night here than the coyotees . Humans are much more dangerous here than the animals .

Greetings! I am planning on visiting San Francisco this summer. In regards to Twin Peaks is this somewhere you drive to? or is it a short walk/hike? I know because of the elevation it will be cold. So we would bring sweaters. I would like to know how long of a walk/hike this is in order to be prepared. Thank you!

I would definitely drive, its way out of the town. Well worth the effort though. I actually got my bearings of the city from there. Every time I was in the city after that I thought of standing on the hill pictured the city and I always worked out where I needed to go. Tip if your really into walking, try the walk from Fisherman's wharf to the golden gate bridge then over the bridge to a lovely little town called Sausalito, then get the ferry back to pier 41 at Fisherman's wharf. its about an 8-10 mile walk its not possible to get lost, there is a place to get a coffee just before you go up the hill to get to the bridge. Take a warm layer (even on a warm day as the middle of the bridge can get windy (almost always is) and cold. There are two routes from the bridge to Sausalito We took the road but you can get below the bridge and take the trail. Sausalito is a lovely place loads of eating places shops and coffee houses bars etc. and the ferry back cost about 8 dollars each and you get the most amazing views of the bay. Just a thought.

You can also take the 37 bus and get off at the end of the line. From there it is a short walk up a natural trail cut through the grass to the peak. Its a bit of a walk. I would recommend possibly taking a taxi/uber up then walking down if interested in some exercise but not a lot. There are natural unmarked walking paths up the sides of the hills. Just look for where it looks people have walked and watch out for the occasional mountain biker
